Dedicated to Reducing Emissions
In 2021, JBS Foods, which includes thinkpure, announced its pledge to work toward net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This pledge is based on our belief that a sustainable food system is essential, and agriculture can be part of the climate solution. We’re committed to helping lead change across the food industry while continuing to support our partners at every step of the value chain. On the path to net zero, we set these interim goals:
- Invest more than $1 billion in upgrading facilities and equipment by 2030
- Invest $100 million in research and development projects by 2030
- Reduce emissions intensity in all our facilities by 30% by 2030
- Use 100% renewable electricity by 2040
- Tie environmental performance to executive compensation to ensure accountability
